Overview

The Paxmal is a peace monument above Walenstadt, just below the Churfirsten mountain range. It was built by Karl Bickel between 1924 and 1949 after he recovered from Tuberculosis. ^[1][2]

The name comes from the combination of the latin word "pax" and the german word "mal". "pax" means "peace" and "mal" means "monument".
